About

The FAR has been founded in 1992 as an advisory body for the NAZ and the earlier HSK (now ENSI). This independent expert group for airborne gamma spectrometry was integrated into the domain A of the commission KOMABC until 2008. Since then the expert group is affiliated to the NAZ. There is one meeting per year at least, which is usually held at NAZ.


Mission

  • to advise the NAZ in technical questions relating to airborne gamma spectrometry

  • to define the areas and programs of yearly surveys and exercises

  • detailed evaluation and interpretation of the measured data

  • reporting about yearly measurement flights

  • coordination of the training and further education for participants

  • coordination of the further developments of the measuring system

  • promotion of international cooperation
